Overview

Pulaki Temple (Pura Pulaki) is a striking sea temple built into a cliff face along the north-west coast, famous for its resident troop of grey macaques believed to guard the sacred site. The temple complex looks directly onto the Bali Sea with dramatic sunsets and is one of the most important spiritual sites in the region. Traditional dress is required (sarongs are provided). A great cultural stop on the way to or from Menjangan and Pemuteran.

Travel tips

A sarong is required (provided at the entrance). Don't bring food or shiny items — the resident macaques will grab them. Late afternoon offers the best light for photos.
